Coming from a background of creative writing, in January 2016 I enrolled for the Treehouse Front End Web Developers (FEWD) Techdegree course and passed the final exam twelve months later in December of the same year. The certificate can be viewed here. Before that I had first started learning to code in July 2015.
According to Treehouse, the target of the course is meant to train the student in HTML, CSS, JavaScript and full Responsive Design, and students are urged to avoid using frameworks like Bootstrap, Foundation and Skeleton in the projects even though they may end up using them professionally later, but the thrust of the course is to teach the student to be able to implement designs with their own knowledge of HTML, CSS and JavaScript. (Treehouse Techdegree 2016).
I am currently ready to take up employment as a Junior Front End Web Developer.
I am also studying for an undergraduate degree in Computer Science online with the University of the People (USA based and accredited). I am currently in the first semester of the second year(September 2017 - September 2018)
Previously I studied for a Bachelor Of Arts Degree in Communication Science with the University of South Africa (UNISA) from 2006 to 2007 (two years), but dropped off before I could finish because of financial challenges
